Intelligent X Entertainment Newsletter (style v.1) October 17, 2000Click on large image above to see the complete HTML newsletter sample. (Opens a new browser window. Close the new window to return here). This one shows off some of the new feature "frames" we were toying with. Making the framed sections expandable (to fit varying amounts of text) AND not throwing off the rest of the layout AND retaining the cross platform, multiple browser compatibility was a challenge.
Intelligent X Newsletters, Ads and Website
Project Description
Originally a revenue generation division of Xdrive Technologies, Intelligent X created and distributed a variety of HTML email newsletters and ads to a large, targeted portion of Xdrive's 9,000,000 members. |
My Role
As the Lead Web Designer working directly with several members of the Intelligent X division, my role in these projects included:
· Collaboration with the person initiating the various newsletters/ads defining target audience, participating advertisers and distribution schedule. The majority of the design decisions including specific layout, style and color palette were my responsibility.
· Development of mock-ups based on above collaboration and market research.
· Creation of images and HTML layouts based on final prototype selected.
· Set up process and procedures for distibution schedules. The Entertainment and Internet & Technology newsletters were dailies delivered early a.m. Monday through Friday. These processes included coordination of image publishing, Quality Assurance control, bug fixes and more.
· I was the sole designer/programmer for the newsletters at first. After the newsletters proved to be successful, we hired an HTML programmer to work with me on the Intelligent X projects. After I trained the new programmer, my duties shifted more towards the design end and development of new ads and newsletters.
